This blog is called Post-Apocalyptic Homeschool because I obsessively collect and stockpile used children's books just in case I need to personally educate a small village after some sort of catastrophic scenario where all the other books and technology and book-obtaining means of all kinds have been destroyed, such that the only reading materials left for miles around are the piles of books in my garage. Sensible, yes?

Proud
"I read it all by myself! I didn't think that I could do that, Mom. Jason, I read this whole book, so I get hot chocolate."
Oh, I absolutely adore the premise for this blog. Can you believe I had EXACTLY the same idea and now have twenty years' worth of children's books in the house? I am ready for the apocalypse any day now:) That is a wonderful proud smile up there. I remember the day my son read his first book all by himself - it was Hop on Pop, but I'm pretty sure Go Dogs Go was a close second. Enjoy this wonderful, magical moment.
